Off-peak (January-February, midweek) you can find rooms from around $65-$85 a night at chain properties along Memorial Boulevard and near the Highway 431 corridor. The cheapest areas are the I-24 exit cluster at Ridgetop (about 12 miles south) and the motels near the 431/49 junction. Downtown around the courthouse square runs closer to $95-$120.
April to early June and September-October give the best weather (60s-70s F) and the Robertson County countryside at its greenest. Rates spike during the Middle Tennessee Tobacco Festival in early October and the Robertson County Fair in August, when rooms jump 30-40%. January, February and early March are cheapest, often under $75.
Three sensible options: the downtown square area near 5th Avenue for walkable coffee shops, boutiques and the historic courthouse; the Memorial Boulevard strip for families wanting chain reliability, pools and parking; or Ridgetop/Greenbrier on the south edge for cheaper rates and quicker access back to Nashville. Downtown suits couples, Memorial Boulevard suits families.
You need a car. There is no local bus system and no passenger rail. Springfield sits about 30 miles north of Nashville via I-65 and Highway 431, roughly a 40-minute drive to downtown Nashville and 45 minutes to BNA airport. Rental cars from BNA run about $40-$60 a day. Uber and Lyft work in town but coverage thins after 10pm.
People assume it is a Nashville suburb and book here to save on Titans games or Broadway weekends — then discover it is a genuine 35-40 minutes each way, and Highway 431 backs up badly on Friday evenings. Also: Robertson County has several dry precincts, so not every restaurant serves alcohol. Check before you book a dinner reservation.
